2010 Acura RDX Leaks Out

2010_Acura_RDX_frontThere’s a 2010 Acura RDX coming soon–and with it, a file full of leaked photos, which hit the Web this morning.

The new RDX has more updates underneath, but the easiest to see is the new shield grille common to the rest of the Acura lineup. The new face has reshaped fog lamps and air intakes along with its bottle-opener grille, which has also been applied to the TSX, TL and RL sedans.

The updated RDX also is said to get a new front-drive version that could boost fuel economy over the all-wheel drive model, which has been the only version available since the compact SUV was launched for 2008. Today’s version gets 17/22 mpg, midpack for vehicles in its class.

Acura-zdx

The all-new provocative 2010 Acura ZDX four-door sports coupe will arrive at Acura dealerships with dramatic styling, outstanding performance and the latest in advanced technology. The segment bending Acura ZDX features stunning coupe-like styling with the added benefit of a commanding presence and flexible utility. Staying true to the prototype model that debuted at the 2009 New York Auto Show in April, the production Acura ZDX will feature the key design highlights of a panoramic glass roof, hidden rear door handles and bold fender flares.

Along with head-turning styling, the Acura ZDX will boast outstanding performance from its 3.7-liter V-6 engine mated to an all-new 6-speed automatic transmission. The 3.7-liter SOHC V-6 all-aluminum engine will generate 300 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque for immediate acceleration response, outstanding low- and mid-range torque and superior high-rpm power. The 6-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters gives the Acura ZDX excellent acceleration while also enhancing fuel economy. Standard on the ZDX is Acura’s exclusive Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) system. The SH-AWD® system expands the Acura ZDX’s appeal by providing outstanding handling as well as superior all-season capability. Standard on the Acura ZDX are 19-inch, 7-spoke alloy wheels; the largest standard wheel in the Acura lineup.

Inside, the Acura ZDX exhibits the highest levels of refinement and sophistication. Every Acura ZDX interior will feature a hand-stitched leather dash, panels and sculpted center console. The rich leather appointments give the Acura ZDX a warm and inviting feeling while creating an intimate cockpit for the driver and passenger.

The Acura ZDX’s flexible utility enables customers to have great utility coupled with sleek styling. The Acura ZDX can seat up to five adults while maintaining a generous amount of cargo space behind the second row of seats. The cargo area can also be expanded to accommodate longer objects, such as golf bags, by removing side panels in the cargo-compartment sidewalls. As an added bonus, there is an integrated under-floor storage area.

When the Acura ZDX goes on sale this winter, customers will have the choice of three distinct trim levels: ZDX, ZDX with Technology Package and the ultra premium, ZDX with Advance Package. Like all Acura models, the Acura ZDX will come generously equipped from the start. The panoramic glass roof with moveable sunshades, hand-stitched leather interior, HandsFreeLink™ Bluetooth® connectivity, power tailgate, and a high powered audio system with CD player, AM/FM/XM radio and USB audio interface with iPod® integration are all standard features.

The Acura ZDX with Technology Package adds several features including a Navigation System with Voice Recognition™, an Acura/ELS Surround® premium audio system and a new multi-view rear camera. The Advance Package boasts additional customer enhancing technologies like a blind spot information system, a Collision Mitigating Braking System™ (CMBS™), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

When the Acura ZDX goes on-sale, it will bring a new level of prestige to the Acura lineup. The Acura ZDX will be priced and positioned between the Acura MDX luxury SUV and the Acura RL luxury sedan. Pricing and additional details will be released at a later date.

2010 Acura ZDX, On Sale This Winter

2010 Acura ZDXAcura’s new ZDX crossover will go on sale this winter, the automaker announced today. It also unveiled the first images of the production version, seen in the photos above and below.

The styling of the production version is almost identical to the prototype we saw at April’s New York auto show. However, we’re not sure why Acura made the door panel gaps so pronounced, even extending them across the top of the vehicle. It makes it look a bit like a jigsaw puzzle.

The ZDX will feature a 300-hp V-6 and Acura’s new six-speed automatic transmission, as well as standard all-wheel drive. Nineteen-inch wheels are also standard; as the company points out, they’re the largest in the Acura lineup.

We also get a glimpse of the interior, which looks very similar to the redesigned TL sedan in terms of scalloped dashboard. The ZDX seats five, unlike the BMW X6, which forgoes a fifth seat in the rear for a cargo compartment.

Speaking of cargo, the ZDX offers up some surprises because it doesn’t pack a normal SUV silhouette. The side panels in the cargo area can be removed so longer items like golf bags can fit across.

Acura says the ZDX will go on sale this winter and will be priced between the $40,990 MDX SUV and the $46,830 RL sedan.

Acura TSX V6

Acura-TSX

Acura debuted the all-new Acura TSX V6 sports sedan at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show. Scheduled to go on sale this summer, the 2010 Acura TSX V6 will be equipped with a powerful 3.5-liter engine, exclusive suspension tuning, larger diameter wheels and additional enhancements.

“The automotive market may be slowing down, but not Acura,” said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. “With improved acceleration and handling, the new 280 horsepower V6 adds even more sport to the already sporty nature of the popular Acura TSX sports sedan.”

Since its redesign last year, the TSX has shattered sales records to become one of Acura’s best-selling sedans. As the entry point to the Acura brand, the four-cylinder TSX has won over customers with its nimble handling, agile driving feel and balanced performance. The V6 model adds a new level of power on top of these winning traits for a more sporty and spirited driving experience. The V6 will surely satisfy driving enthusiast’s appetite for a fun-to-drive, yet refined sports sedan.

With the introduction of a V6 powered Acura TSX, Acura will fill a niche in its lineup between the four-cylinder TSX and the all-new TL performance luxury sedan. With the TL moving more upscale following its redesign in the 2009 model year, the Acura TSX V6 will be aimed squarely at youthful buyers who want a performance-oriented sports sedan in a more personal size.

Powertrain

A new Acura TSX powertrain choice means performance luxury buyers can enjoy a 280 horsepower 3.5L V6, with sophisticated VTEC® valvetrain control and a dual-stage induction system. For maximum performance and efficiency, the engine will be coupled to Acura’s Sequential SportShift automatic transmission, with intelligent features such as Grade Logic Control and Shift Hold Control. If the driver desires, the Sequential SportShift transmission can also be operated manually, via steering-wheel mounted F1®-style paddle shifters.

Body/Chassis

The new Acura TSX model will feature a state-of-the-art, double-wishbone front and multilink rear suspension system to provide excellent ride, handling and control. To generate sportier handling, the V6 model will also use exclusive suspension tuning along with 18-inch split five-spoke aluminum wheels, fit with Michelin Pilot all-season tires. The larger wheels and tires will help distinguish this performance- minded TSX, as does the slightly revised front fascia and a V6 badge on the trunk.

The Acura TSX V6 model will be generously equipped with the latest advancements in safety technology and is anticipated to achieve the highest ratings in both government (NHTSA) and independent (IIHS) crash testing – including garnering IIHS’s TOP SAFETY PICK.

Interior

Like all Acura models, the new TSX will feature an exceptional level of standard equipment, including leather-appointed interior, power moonroof, automatic climate control, a premium seven-speaker sound system with CD, AM/FM tuner, XM® Satellite Radio, Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® , USB port and AUX jack music interface and more.

Similar to the four-cylinder TSX, the V6 model will be available with the optional Technology Package that includes the Acuralink™ satellite navigation system with rear-view camera and the Acura/ELS Surround® premium audio system for a top-in-class audio experience.

The introduction of the Acura TSX V6 at the Chicago Auto Show is the first step in a series of major advancements to the 2010 Acura lineup. Almost every Acura sedan and SUV will receive significant enhancements for the 2010 model year.
